Samskrta
The mother of all languages in India, Sanskrit dates back to about 1500-500 BCE. There is a chance that Sanskrit is one of the oldest language of the world. This language is known as more perfect than Greek, more copious than Latin and more refined than either. Sanskrit is regarded as the most scientific language and the perfect vehicle of communication. It differentiates itself as the only language which has built in method of pronunciation, word formation and grammar. Sanskrit is based on root syllables and words. It is the only language which is derived from a root, a characteristic that no other language seems to have. It can be said that Sanskrit is probably the origin of verbal and written communication. It is also recommended as the top language for use in Computational Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence.
The word Samskrta is a compound word in which “Sam” means together, good and “krta” means pure, perfect, sacred. Also known as the Deva Bhasha (God’s language). Right from the Rig Veda, the earliest known written work in Sanskrit, to the modern literary works of today, Sanskrit has a vast library of literature to quench our thirst of the language. We have listed many such great works in other sections of this site for the seekers of Sanskrit language. Today, alas, it is just used for performing ceremonies and chanting of shlokas. The current status of the Sanskrit language is quite sad. The mother language needs special and urgent scrutiny. It is our responsibility to bring back the languagewhich is the foundation of all our languages and culture. This is but a small effort on our part to revive and make Sanskrit more popular among us.
